KCS - What does "there was a problem recording your payment, please try again" error message mean when applying a Trust Payment to an Invoice?

Objective:

  • Can't apply trust payment to invoice because of error message.

  • Clio Web App
  • New Clio Experience

Answer:

There are several reasons why this error may be generated. One possible issue is insufficient funds in the Trust Account. Check that the Matter or Contact level has enough money to pay for the invoice, or do not have a negative balance.
