KCS - Why Are Transactions Duplicated in the Statement of Account on a Bill?

Objective:

  • Resolving double Transaction Records in the Operating and/or Trust Account

Additional Information:

  • To locate and remove double Transaction Records, look at the Client Transaction Ledger to determine which entries are duplicated and can be deleted. Information on how manage such deletions are outlined in the links below.

Answer:

  • Transactions can be entered in Clio at both the Client and Matter levels, which allows Clio users to appropriately record funds received from clients based on requirements.

 

  • All Transactions entered at both the Client and Matter Level for Client are visible in the Client Transaction Ledger. Entries may appear as duplicated records, with similar but separate entries listed for the Client and the Matter. Only Transactions related to a Matter are visible in the Matter Transaction Ledger.
