Task Notifications

When you are assigned a new task by someone via the web app who opted to notify you upon assignment, you will see a notification of the task assignment. To view the task in Clio, tap "Open".

You can also find your Clio notifications from the Notifications menu on your iOS device.

Viewing Tasks

To access your Tasks, tap on the "More" tab at the bottom of the screen. Next, tap "Tasks" from the menu.

On the Tasks screen, different Task categories are displayed based on due dates and completion status. Tap on a category to view relevant Tasks. Tap "To-Do" to view all pending Tasks. 

When viewing a list of Tasks, the list is sorted by due date.

 

To see more details about a Task, tap it to open the details screen.

 

Filtering Tasks

To filter the Tasks that are visible, tap the "Filters" button.

On the Filters screen, select the criteria by which you want to filter your Tasks, then tap the "Apply" button.

To see Tasks assigned to all users, de-select yourself from the Filtered User list, and under Assigned To it will display "Anyone".

Completing a Task

Once a Task is complete, you can check the button to the left of the Task when viewing them in a list.

Alternately, you can mark a Task as complete when viewing the Task details. Tap the blue "Mark as Complete" button at the bottom of the screen:

Creating a Task

To create a Task, tap the "+" button at the bottom right of the screen.

Next, tap "Task" in the menu.

In the "New Task" form, fill in the details of your Task and tap the "Create Task" button.

Assigning a Task to a Contact

To assign a Task to one of your Contacts through Clio Connect, tap the "Firm User" link under "Assignee".

 

On the "Type" screen, tap "Contact".  Then tap "Done" to return to the Task screen.

Back on the Task screen, tap "Add an assignee to your task" then select the Contact that you would like to assign the Task to.

Editing a Task

To edit a Task, tap it from the Task list to bring up the Task details screen. Then tap "Edit" in the top right corner. If you want to show additional fields, tap on "Choose Optional Fields" at the bottom of the screen.

When you are finished editing your Task, tap on the "Save" link at the top of the screen.

Deleting a Task

While you are in the edit screen of the Task, scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap the "Delete Task" button.

Please note that a Deletion is a permanent action. You may be able to recover the Task via the Recovery Bin in the desktop application.

Using Task List Templates

You can add Task Lists that you have created in Clio's desktop application when adding or editing a Matter.

From the New or Edit Matter screen, tap "Choose Optional Fields".

Then, in the Optional Fields list, select "Task Lists".

Back on the Matter screen, tap "Add a task list", then select your list from the "Task Template List" screen.

Once added, you can view the Tasks in your list by tapping "Preview". Each Task will be read-only, however. If you need to make changes to a Task template, you will have to do so in the desktop application.
