Firm Administrators have the ability to determine permissions around billing rate visibility by changing viewing privileges for users at the firm. To change billing permissions for specific users:
- Go to Settings > Manage Users.
- Click Edit in the Name column for the user you want to want to change billing permissions.
- Scroll down until you see Billing Rate and Billing Rate Visibility.
- Under Billing Rate Visibility, choose one of the three options:
-
- All: The user can see their own billing rate as well as the billing rate of any users in the firm, along with the total for time entries.
- Own: The user can only see their own billing rate and total for time entries.
- None: The user cannot see ANY billing rates or totals for time entries, including their own.
-
- Scroll down and click Save New Information.
Important: If you want to restrict a user's access to rate/billing information, then you also need to remove Billing and Reports permissions or the user will be able to see rate/billing information. Scroll down in the same screen until you see Permissions. De-select Reports and/or Billing.
Did you know? Firm Administrators can restrict additional activity hours information for users at their firm. When this setting is applied, a user will only have access to the quantity, billable amount, non-billable amount, and rate fields on the Activities page for their own work and for matters where they are the responsible attorney.
