Importing Your Calendar to Clio

You'll need to follow instructions specific to your calendaring application:

Microsoft Outlook
Google Calendar
Apple iCal
Undoing an Import

Microsoft Outlook

Attention:  If you are going to set up the bi-directional sync between Clio and Outlook so that changes in one will be reflected in the other, please do not follow these instructions, but instead simply set up the sync.  

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Click File menu
  3. Click Import and Export
  4. Click Export to a file
  5. Click Comma Separated Values (DOS)
  6. You may be required to install the possible translator here. Just follow the directions on the screen
  7. Select folder to export from: Calendar
  8. Browse, name, and save the file some place easy to find it. (Desktop)
  9. Click Next
  10. On the follow actions will be performed screen click the Finish button
  11. Allow the export to perform
  12. Import the resulting CSV file at https://app.clio.com/imports (make sure you select "CSV" as the format)

Google Calendar

Attention:  If you are going to set up the bi-directional sync between Clio and Google so that changes in one will be reflected in the other, please do not follow these instructions, but instead simply set up the sync.

1.   In Google in the calendar list on the left side of the page, click the down-arrow next to the appropriate calendar and select Calendar settings. (Alternatively, click the Settings link at the bottom of the calendar list, then click the appropriate calendar. 2013-04-03_1307.png 

2.  Click the ICAL button in the 'Private Address' section at the bottom of the page, and click the displayed URL: 2013-04-03_1309.png3.  Save the exported file to the desired folder on your computer (where you can find it easily).

4.  Go to https://app.clio.com/imports and click on "Add": 5.  From the dropdown, choose "Calendar from iCalendar", choose the destination calendar in Clio (your own is the default), and the file from your computer that you saved.  When complete, choose Upload File:You will now see under the "State" that the calendar is Queued.  The amount of information in your iCal file will determine how long the import will take.  You can leave this page and come back to it to check on the progress.  When the import is complete you will see it is marked as same.  If there was a problem or you would like to remove the import, click on "Undo": 2014-02-13_2009.pngApple iCal

1.  To export the events on a calendar, select the name of the calendar in the Calendars list 2013-04-03_1313.pngthen choose File > Export. The events are exported as an “.ics” file:  Screen_Shot_2013-04-03_at_1.15.13_PM.png

2.  Go to https://app.clio.com/imports and click on "Add": 2014-02-13_2006.png3.  From the dropdown, choose "Calendar from iCalendar", choose the destination calendar in Clio (your own is the default), and the file from your computer that you saved.  When complete, choose Upload File:  You will now see under the "State" that the calendar is Queued.  The amount of information in your iCal file will determine how long the import will take.  You can leave this page and come back to it to check on the progress.  When the import is complete you will see it is marked as same.  If there was a problem or you would like to remove the import, click on "Undo".

Undoing an Import
 
If you go to https://app.clio.com/imports and "Undo" an import you will see a warning:
