What versions are supported?

Any device that has version iOS 8.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 6 and iPad.

Where do I get it?

To download the Clio iOS app, go to the Apple app Store and search for Clio.

Here you will see the app to download to your iOS device.

To log into Clio, use the email and password you use for your existing Clio account.

If you have an iOS device that supports it, the first time you log into the app you can enable Clio to log in with Touch ID.

The first time you log into the app you can set a PIN. If you choose to set a PIN, you simply enter it each time you log in.

Modifying or removing the PIN can be done from the app if you know your existing PIN. If you have forgotten your PIN, you can logout and login again, or you can deauthorize the app from "Mobile Settings" in your Clio Settings.

Syncing

The first time you download the app it will sync your information from your Clio account. Please be patient as this may take some time. Going forward, when you log into the Clio app it will sync over new information. The Clio app will bring over new Matter and Contact information first, followed by the rest of the information.

While you are in any list view you can manually trigger a sync by pulling down your screen down and releasing.

Viewing the App

Home Screen

When you log into the Clio app you are directed to the Home screen.

Navigation Tabs

The navigation tabs at the bottom of the screen enable you to access the different areas of the app.

These navigation tabs are always displayed and can be used to move quickly between different areas of the Clio app without losing your work. For example, if you are looking at a specific Matter in the "Matters" tab, and then move to the "Calendar" tab to check your appointments, when you tap "Matters" again, the same Matter that you were looking at before is displayed.

Tapping "Home", "Calendar", or "Matters" displays the relevant page. Tapping "More" displays a menu where you can access the other areas of the app.

Global Create

The Global Create button ("+") at the bottom right of the screen enables you to add anything from anywhere on the app. Tapping the Global Create button displays a menu where you can choose what to add

Landscape Mode

If you are using the Clio iOS app on your iPad, you are able to rotate the device to go into landscape mode.

Please note that the log in page does not go into landscape mode, but once you are logged into the app, all screens will rotate.

If the screen doesn't rotate, troubleshooting steps can be found on the Apple Support site.

Logging Out

The app isn't designed to be logged out of each time you use it, that will clear all data and require a re-sync next time you login. Instead, we recommend using the PIN setting to keep the app data safe. The synced data will be accessible offline. While we try to validate each PIN request against our servers, in case the PIN has changed, if the user is not online we will check the last known PIN.

To log out of the app, tap "More" on the navigation tab at the bottom of the screen. Then tap "Settings". The button to sign out of Clio is displayed on this page.
