Secure Messages

Notifications

When you are sent a Secure Message by someone via the web app, you will see a notification of the new message. To view the Secure Message in Clio, tap "Open".

You can also find your Clio notifications from the Notifications menu on your iOS device.

Viewing Secure Messages

To view secure messages, tap the "More" tab at the bottom of the screen. Then select "Inbox" from the menu.

To view the contents of a message, tap on it. To draft a response and reply, tap "Send a reply" at the bottom of the screen.

 

Viewing Phone and Email Communications Logs

You can view and record Email and Phone Communications Logs from within a Contact or a Matter by tapping the "Menu" tab, then tap the "Communications" button.

Recording a New Communication Log

To record a new communication, tap the "+" button in the bottom right corner of the screen. Next, tap "Communication" from the menu.

In the "New Communication" form, complete the fields as follows:

  1. To: Tap to select an existing Contact or user of your Firm account.
  2. Type: Tap to select "Email" or "Phone" Communication. 
  3. Subject: Tap to enter the Subject of the Communication.
  4. Body: Tap to enter the full body of the recorded message.
  5. Choose Optional Fields: Tap to add the optional fields - Matter, From, & Date.

When you have completed all required fields, tap the "Create Communication" button to save the record.

Editing or Deleting Communications

To edit or delete a saved Communication, tap on it in the "Communications" list to open it. To edit a specific field, tap on it.

Once you are finished editing the Communication, tap the "Save" link to save.

To delete the Communication, scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap the red "Delete Communication" button.

Adding Time to a Communication

To add time to a Communication, go to the "Communications" screen for the related Matter or Contact, then tap the ellipsis icon beside the Communication you would like to add a time entry for. In the pop-up menu, tap "Add Time".
