Receiving Invoice Payments with PayPal

To receive payment on an invoice using PayPal, you must first specify PayPal as the online payment account provider. In the settings menu, click "Online Payments".

On the Online Payments screen, select PayPal from the dropdown menu. Then enter the email associated with your PayPal account, and click "Update Online Payment Account".

Now that your Clio account is set up to receive online payments using PayPal, navigate to the invoice and click "Share".

On the "Share Bill" window, select the contact and then select "Share via Clio Connect" as the notification method. Then click "Share Bill".

The contact will receive an email inviting them to view the invoice in Clio Connect.

Clicking the "View bill" button takes them to their Clio Connect account. Once they navigate to the invoice and click "Pay Bill," they are redirected to PayPal to complete the payment.

In PayPal, your client will enter their payment information.

Once PayPal has processed the payment, you will apply the funds to the invoice in Clio. For details on this process, see the "Receiving Online Payments in Clio" article.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I accept partial payments on Bills using PayPal?

No. While partial payments can be collected using Clio Payments, PayPal only accepts doing a full payment on Bills.
