Please note that success of any data migration depends primarily on the quality of the data set provided to us. Before attempting to migrate your information into Clio, you should ensure that your data is consistently formatted, well organized, sufficiently backed up, and stored securely. If you are not certain, it is recommended that you consult with your Clio representative before proceeding.
Your Migrations Specialist will make contact with you to discuss your previous software and the data we are capable of exporting from the software to migrate to Clio. There is some information we will not be able to migrate and you can find this here.
An email with the steps to conduct the export will be sent to you to attempt an initial self export. Don't worry, If you're experiencing trouble exporting you can arrange an Export Session with your Migrations Specialist. The data will then be reviewed to identify what information will be migrated and any limitations the data export may cause for the migration to Clio
Following on from the export session and data review your Migrations Specialist will begin processing your data; this will take five business days. If it is anticipated that processing will take longer then a five business day turn around your Migrations Specialist will set this expectation. Processing can be extended due to data complexities and the volume of data.
Once the data has been processed your Migrations Specialist will reach out to begin importing your data. Any errors that occur during the import will be explained after the import has been completed.
From start to finish including all initial discussion and appointments including the processing period your Migration could take up to two weeks to complete depending on your availability to arrange appointments for the consultation, export and import; data processing will only occur after the data is received by the Migrations Specialist.
