KCS - Issue: Global Search Bar Preview Does Not Show Matter Some Results For Matters

  • Unable to quick search for Matters that use a period "." by searching for letters after the period

Cause:

Clio's quick search uses the Autocomplete analyzer. Specifically, for the quick search, the period character (and perhaps certain other characters) do not appear appear to reset the search index as is expected. 

For instance, if you have a Matter named "Smith.Bob-12345", it will not appear in the quick search if "Bob" is searched for. 

Workaround:

  1. Search based on the first letters of the Matter, or by the Matter numbers
  2. Hit Enter or select Search All Categories to view the Search Results page
  3. Locate the Matter under Matters results tab
