Please note that the success of any data migration depends primarily on the quality of the data set provided to us. Before attempting to migrate your information into Clio, you should ensure that your data is consistently formatted, well organized, sufficiently backed up, and stored securely. If you are not certain, it is recommended that you consult with your Clio representative before proceeding.


  1. Choose File
  2. Click Reports (Names Calendar Matters Matter Notes or Name Notes)
  3. On The “Names Report Control” pop up select Report (Names List)
  4. Click Add
  5. Give Name such as Clio Contact Export
  6. Click Done
  7. Choose Columns – 1 Line per record
  8. Select Add
  9. Right Click and Tag All
  10. Hit OK
  11. Choose Yes to all Select an Option pop-ups
  12. Choose Run
  13. Select Data Merge File
  14. Choose Comma Delimited
  15. Hit Ok
  16. Save file
