KCS - Why Is Interest Showing Negative on My Bill

Objective:

  • Why Can I Not Record A Payment
  • Interest Is Recording As Negative When I Try And Apply A Payment

Environment:

  • Clio Web App

Additional Information:

This occurs when you have a Multi-Matter Bill and you have paid off some of the Matters, but the Bill is still recording interest for all the Matters.

Answer:

  • Record any information about the Payments
  • Delete all Payments on the Bill
  • Re-record the Payments either as one lump sum, or by Payment Type (ie, Direct Payment, Clio Payment, Trust)
