  • Export from Timeslips 2011
  • Get data from Timeslips 2011 to Clio

Please note that success of any data migration depends primarily on the quality of the data set provided to us. • If it's the first time you've ever run the export function, you may get a Create an Export Template window that has an option to Open Report Entry.
  • You can also get a Client Listing in .csv by running a Client Info Listing Report from the main Reports tab

Procedure:

For Contacts:

  1. Open Timeslips
  2. Click File > Export
  3. Click Clients
  4. Click Open Report Entry
  5. Under Selection Filters, select either Clients or Client Info Listing, whichever is available. If it's not already in the box to the right of the arrows, click the right-facing arrow to move Clients into that listing.
  6. With Clients or Client Info Listing selected, click the Edit button at the bottom of the box. Check the boxes for Active, Inactive, and Closed to include all clients in the report.
  7. Next to Print to: select Comma Separated Values (CSV)
  8. Save in location you can easily access
  9. Make sure the Include Field Labels option is checked before saving

For Slips (Time and Expense entries):

  1. Open Timeslips
  2. Click File > Export
  3. Click Slips
  4. Click Open Report Entry
  5. Under Selection Filters, select both Slips and Slip Transaction Date, whichever is available. If either is not already in the box to the right of the arrows, click the right-facing arrow to move Clients into that listing.
  6. Set the date range parameters when prompted; choose the date range which comprises as little billed activity as possible, to capture only the unbilled time.
  7. Next to Print to: select Comma Separated Values (CSV)
  8. Save in location you can easily access
  9. Make sure the Include Field Labels option is checked before saving
