KCS - Why Does the Total Time and the Total Expenses on the Matter Dashboard not Match the Amount Paid By the Client?

Objective:

  • To determine how the Total Time and the Total Expenses within the Matter Dashboard are calculated

  • Clio Web App

Additional Information:

When generating a Client Ledger Report, totals reflected in the report may differ from totals shown in the Matter Dashboard if discounts, taxes or write-offs are entered.  

Answer:

The totals in the Matter Dashboard for both Total Time and Total Expenses reflect the gross amount logged by the User. 

Any discounts, taxes or write-offs recorded during payment will not be reflected in the Matter Dashboard totals.
