What Does the "Service Type" Setting When Creating a Court Rule Do?

Objective:

  • What does Service Type in Court Rules mean?
  • Does the Service Type change Court Rules

Environment:

  • Clio Manage

Additional Information:

  • The "Service Type" option will only appear when the Trigger chosen has a deadline calculation dependent on the service type.
  • For more in-depth information on how the service type option affects event dates, email CalendarRules at info@calendarrules.com.

Answer:

The "Service Type" setting indicates how items that must be served will be delivered. Court Rules will adjust the deadline for events which are dependant on this in accordance with the rules of the jurisdiction that was selected (ie 3 extra days if "Regular Mail" is selected).

The description of the event will be updated to indicate any additional days that have been added to the deadline, and why they have been added.
