You can create rules (or filters) in MS Outlook to automatically forward emails received from your clients to the appropriate Matter via the Matter maildrop address.

The easiest way to create a rule in Outlook is from an email in your inbox.
When viewing an email from your client, click on "Rules" in the "Move" group of the "Home" ribbon.
From the Rules menu, select "Create Rule".
In the "Create Rule" window, you can check the "From" box, then click the "Advanced Options" button.
In step 1 of the "Rules Wizard", the "from" box should already be checked. If you do not want every email from your client to be filed into Clio, apply any other conditions that you want, then click "Next".
In the next step of the "Rules Wizard", check the box beside "forward it to people or public group". In the "Edit the rule description" box, click on the "people or public group" link to add the Clio Matter maildrop address.
Next, you will need to open Clio and navigate to the appropriate Matter. Go to the "Communications" sub-tab of the Matter and copy the maildrop email address.
Paste the maildrop email address into the "To" field of the "Rule Address" window back in Outlook. Click "OK".
You should now see the maildrop address in the Outlook "Rules Wizard". Click "Next".
Add any exceptions to the Outlook rule that should apply or click "Next".
In the final step of the "Rule Wizard" give the rule a name. We suggest creating a name that includes the related Matter name.
Check the boxes beside "Run this rule now" and "Turn on this rule", then click "Finish".
You will now see the email message saved to the "Communications" sub-tab of the appropriate Matter. Any new emails that you receive from your client will be forwarded automatically to Clio shortly after appearing in your inbox.
