What Does the Whole Word Checkbox in Text Snippets Do?

Additional Information:

Whole word is useful when the Text Snippet used matches text you might normally type (e.g. typing the word "achieve" would cause an "ach" Text Snippet to inadvertently expand). 

Answer:

When you use a Text Snippet that has Whole word selected, the Text Snippet will only be created after you type the Text Snippet and then press the spacebar.
