How Do I Add Time Entries to Paid Bills

Objective:

  • How do I add line items to Bills that have already been paid?
  • How can I add Time Entries to paid Invoices?

Environment:

  • Clio Manage

Additional Information:

To edit a Bill in Awaiting Payment, Users need to enable the feature:

  • Settings > Billing > Click Allow Editing of Approved Bills and Trust Requests

Procedure:

  1. Access the Bill you would like to edit
  2. Select Payments on the left hand side halfway down the page
  3. Click Delete under the specific Payment(s)
  4. Once you have deleted all payments, select Actions
  5. Click Edit
  6. Select Add Item
  7. Add time entries
  8. Select Create New Record to ensure that the Time Entry is attributed to the right user
  9. Click Update Invoice
  10. Re-create payments if necessary
