Finding Timers
Timers can be started in several different places to make it easy and efficient to accurately capture time. 

From the Header

You can start a timer for any recently entered Time Entry by clicking the play button on the timer in the header at the top of Clio.

From the Activities page

On the "Activities" page, or the "Activities" tab of a Matter, you can start a timer for any unbilled Time Entry by clicking the play button.

An active timer will display a pause button instead of a play button.

From a new Time Entry

Press the play button in the "Time entry" window to start a timer.

Using the Timekeeper

On the Clio header, click on the clock icon beside the timer.

This will open the Timekeeper.

The Timekeeper displays all of the Time Entries that you have entered today. You can re-start timers, edit entries, or create new Time Entries. You can also use the arrow buttons to look at previous days.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I start a Timer on behalf of another user?

No. You can only start a Timer for yourself.

Can I start a Timer on a Time Entry which has already been billed?

No. Once a Time Entry has been billed you can't add more time to it with the Timer.

Does Clio have a pop-out Timer or a Timer widget? 

No, at the moment, Clio does not have a Timer widget. If you would like to see this feature please submit a feature request to support@clio.com
