There are a few reasons why this error may occur:
- One possible issue is insufficient funds in the Trust Account. Check that the Matter or Contact level has enough money to pay for the invoice.
- If the Matter Trust account has a negative balance and the Client Trust account has a sufficient balance, you will still get this error. To resolve this, transfer the Trust funds from the Client Level to the Matter Level.
- If you are trying to apply funds to a multi-matter bill using trust funds, the funds may be at a Matter Level and cannot be applied to all the Matters on the bill. Moving the funds to the contact level should resolve this.
