How to Add An Invoice Note to a Bill


  • Include extra text on an Invoice
  • Add notes for your client on their bill (free text field)


  • Clio Manage

Additional Information:

Note: For the Invoice note field to appear on bills, the following default setting must remain untouched: 

  • Footer > Footer
  • Show Invoice Memo box is checked
  • Text box contains: {{bill_memo}}


  1. Locate the Bill
  2. Check the box to Show invoice memo (on the left, under "Notes")
  3. Type into the box below
  4. Click outside of the box to save the changes
