Procedure:
Method 1 (For Both Clients To Appear On A Bill)
In this workflow, the idea is to create three Contacts. One for your first Contact and their respective email, another for your second Contact and their respective email, and a third Contact that has both Contact's names but no email associated with it. The third contact is useful for Invoices, as it will be the Primary contact for the Matter and therefore, it will be referenced for the Invoice's addressee. There is no email address associated with it to prevent a Contact from receiving two emails for the same invoice.
Part 1:
- Go to Contacts
- Click New Person to create a new Contact
- In the First Name field add the first names of both Contacts (e.g. John and Jane)
- In the Last Name field add the last name (e.g. Doe)
- Enter in no email for this contact
- This contact will save as: John and Jane Doe (no email)
Part 2:
- Go to Contacts
- Click New Person to create a new Contact
- Enter in the first Contact's information in each respective field (e.g. John Doe, johndoe@email.com)
- Click Save Contact
- Click New Person to create another new Contact (e.g. Jane Doe, janedoe@email.com)
- Enter in the second Contact's information in each respective field
- Click Save Contact
Part 3:
- Go to Matters
- Click New Matter
- Add the initial Contact you created (e.g. John Doe & Jane Doe (no email)) as the Primary Contact for the Matter
- Scroll down to Related Contacts
- Click Add Related Contact and enter in your first contact (e.g. John Doe, johndoe@email.com)
- Click Add Related Contact and enter in your second contact (e.g. Jane Doe, janedoe@email.com)
- For both contacts, be sure to click the checkbox that says Bill Recipient. This will allow both these contacts to have their emails auto-populate when sending a Bill
Method 2 (For Both Clients To Appear On A Bill)
- Navigate to the Contact
- Click Edit contact at the top right corner
- Scroll down to the Street field in the Address section
- Enter the full address of the first Contact
- Click Enter to make a line break
- Enter the name of the second Contact and their address
- Repeat for all of the Contacts you want to appear on the Bill
- Leave the City, State and Zip fields blank
