If I Move the "Clio" Folder to a Different Document Integration, Will It Link Up Correctly?

Objective:

  • Change to a different Document Integration
  • Move Clio Folders from one Document Integration to another
  • Understand folder structure of third party document integrations
  • Move Clio Folder to a different account for the same integration

Environment:

  • Clio Manage
  • Dropbox
  • Box
  • Google Drive
  • Microsoft OneDrive

Additional Information:

n/a

Answer:

Clio's integrations with Dropbox, Box, Google Drive, and OneDrive are all based on the same folder structure (Clio folder > Client folders > Matter folders). The links with Clio and the Clients and Matters are established based on the folder names and the structure. Provided that these factors have not been changed, if you move the Clio folder from one Document Integration to another (or a different account in the same Document program), and then connect that integration with Clio, it will be able to relink successfully, making any files visible within Clio and linked with the appropriate Clients and Matters.
