Why Won't My Invoice ID's Change?

Objective:

  • Bill Numbers Not Counting Upwards
  • Bill IDs Not Generating Properly After I Customized 
  • If I Void an invoice, what invoice number is the next bill I generate?

Environment:

  • Clio Manage

Additional Information:

Answer:

If you have edited or voided an Invoice ID, the next Invoice will count up from the last highest number. This will not be so if the Invoice ID is hyphenated or not a whole number (ie 17-0001). 

If the last highest number is on a Voided Bill and you are looking to reduce the number, you can edit the invoice, and change the ID number in the top left.
