Does my Clio Subscription Charge Include Tax?

Sales Tax

Clio reserves the right to assess applicable taxes as required by local law. Depending on location, customers may be charged sales taxes when purchasing Clio plans.

The Basics

  • Your primary business address is used to determine the correct tax rate, if applicable.
  • The prices shown on our website do not include sales tax.
  • Account Administrators can update the primary business address and other billing details by following the steps outlined in this support article.

U.S. Sales Tax

U.S. customers may be subject to state and local sales taxes. The primary business address associated with your Clio account will determine whether your account is subject to tax, and the applicable state and local tax rates. Sales tax charges will be included as a line item on your billing statement or invoice.

*Note: We recommend that you include your full primary business address details, including postal code, to ensure the accuracy of your applicable state and local tax rates.

Request an Exemption

If your firm is exempt from paying sales tax, please send your sales tax exemption certificate to our support team at support@clio.com. 501(c) status from the IRS is not sufficient proof of state or city sales tax exemption.

Canada

Taxes are not included in your monthly or yearly Clio Subscription charges. For additional information, please refer to 9.8 in our Terms of Service.

EU

Taxes are not included in the subscription price. For additional information, please refer to 10.2 in our Terms of Service.
