How to Share a Document Folder

Answer:

You are able to Share Folders via Clio for Co-Counsel / Clio Connect and Clio for Clients. 

 

Share via Clio for Co-Counsel / Clio Connect

  1. Click the main Documents tab on the left side bar, or navigate to a Matter or Contact and click the Documents tab at the top
  2. Click the dropdown arrow beside Edit in the Actions column
  3. Click Share with contacts from the dropdown menu
  4. Select contacts for sharing: Start typing the name of a Contact with a valid email address then select it when it pops up.
  5. Write an optional message: Add an optional message to the email notification.
  6. Share button: Click the "Share" button to start sharing the folder.

 

Share via Clio for Clients

  1. Click the main Documents tab on the left side bar, or navigate to a Matter or Contact and click the Documents tab at the top
  2. Click the dropdown arrow beside Edit in the Actions column
  3. Click Share to Client Portal 
  4. Select other client portal participants: Start typing the name of a Contact you would like to include in the client portal, then select when it pops up
  5. Write an optional message: Add an optional message to the email notification.
  6. Share the folder 
    • If the Client Portal has previously been created, hit Share
    • Otherwise, click Create client portal and share, which will create a Client Portal for the Matter and share the folder in to it
