Using Clio Launcher After FasterSuite Is Uninstalled

Issue:

  • Using Clio Launcher After FasterSuite Is Uninstalled
  • Using Clio Launcher instead of FasterSuite
  • Unable to log into FasterSuite

Environment:

  • Clio Manage

Additional Information:

  • If you previously had FasterSuite installed and Clio Launcher is currently working please try to avoid uninstalling or upgrading Clio Launcher as this change may cause it Clio Launcher links to stop working as expected.

Cause:

Clio Launcher cannot be selected as the program to open a "Clio" link after FasterSuite has been uninstalled.

Resolution:

  • Use Firefox as an alternative browser. Firefox allows you to choose what program is opened by special links, overriding the Windows defaults:
    1. Click on a Clio Launcher link in Clio
    2. If prompted click Choose beside "Choose other Application":
    3. Choose Clio Launcher
      • The Clio Launcher program can be found in Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\clio_launcher\Clio Launcher.exe
      • Hidden files need to be visible to see the AppData folder
  • If clicking the Clio Launcher link does not prompt you to choose a program, you can also select it in Firefox's settings:
    1. Click the Menu button (3 lines)
    2. Click Options
    3. Under General, Scroll down to Applications
    4. Beside the "clio" Content Type click the option or program listed in the Action column
    5. Click Use other...
    6. Choose Clio Launcher
      • The Clio Launcher program can be found in Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\clio_launcher\Clio Launcher.exe
      • Hidden files need to be visible to see the AppData folder
