Why is the Global Search Export Opening as a .Json File?

Objective:

  • To determine why the global search export is opening as a .Json file

Environment:

  • Clio Manage

Additional Information:

  • JSON stands for JavaScript Object Notation, when sending data to a server JSON is the format that is used to tell the server how our data should be interpreted.

Answer:

When exporting the Documents section of the Global Search export results, if there are multiple file types such as .pdf, .xls, or .jpgs it will combine them all in a .Json file. If you need a list of the Global Search results, use the option Ctrl + P and that will print the page out as opposed to exporting the information.
