Do I Need to First Create the Contact for a 'Contact Select' Custom Field Before Expecting to See Them in the Matter/Contact Custom Field Drop-down Menu?

  • Does a contact have to already be created in Clio Manage before they can be selected from the contact-select drop-down?

Answer:

Yes.

You will not be able to create a contact directly from the 'Contact Select' drop-down menu. The Contact Select custom fields are based on contacts that are already created in your Clio Manage Account, and will thus need to be created in your account before you are able to select them from the drop-down menu for the custom field.
