Why Do I Get the Error That The Custom Field Name Has Been Taken When There Are No Current Custom Fields With The Same Name?


  • Error: "Sorry, the Custom Field wasn't saved due to the following errors: Name has already been taken"

There previously was a Custom Field that was using the same name. When the Custom Field was deleted the box, "Remove this custom field from any matter currently using it." was not selected. Since the data still exists within the Clio Account, you would not be able to re-create the same Custom Field using the same name.
