You have the ability to determine permissions around billing rate visibility. This allows you the flexibility to determine the viewing privileges of members of your firm.
Account Administrators can go to Settings-> System -> Manage Users:
Click 'Edit' in the 'Name' column for the user you want to want to make a change to;
Next, you will see an area titled "Billing Rate Visibility" and this is where you can make selections regarding what the User can see:
There are three options:
All: The user can see their rate as well as the rate of any users in the firm, along with the total for time entries.
Limited: The user can only see their own rate.
None: The user can not see any rates or totals for time entries.
Important Note: If you want to restrict a user's access to rate/billing information, then also remove permissions for Billing and Reports or they will be able to see that information there.
If I want the User to see everything, then I will leave the option as All. But let's say that I only want Joan to see her own rates but not those of anyone else in the firm. I would change the Billing Rate Visibility to "Limited"* and save.
Once I do that if Pete logs into Clio he will be see his own Rate and Amount, but not that of Don's:
*Remember that unless I also restrict her access to Bills and Reports (in the same User edit screen as above) then she will be able to see that information there.
If I do not want Pete to see any information with respect to his own billing rates and totals or that of anyone else in the firm, then I would change the Billing Rate Visibility to "None"* and click save.
Once I do that, Pete will not see any Rates or Amounts when viewing time entries:
*Remember that unless you restrict access to Bills and Reports (in the same User edit screen as above), the user will be able to see that information here.
