Helping Your Clients Understand Clio Connect

Clio Connect is accessible via a web browser. We will soon be launching Clio for Clients, which is a portal for communicating and collaborating with clients. You can learn more about Clio for Clients on Clio’s website.

Before you share items via Clio Connect, you may want to advise them you will be doing so and give them some helpful resources to refer to.  Attached to this article is a sample letter that you can customize using Clio's Document Automation. This Document can assist your clients in setting up a Clio Connect account. You can upload the Document as a Template.


Example Clio Connect Email

When you share a Bill, Document, Task, Matter, Event or Secure Message with a Client or Co-Counsel via our secure Clio Connect portal, the following is an example of the email they will receive. This is the notification that they need to log in to Clio to view the resource. 

Once the email is opened, your Client will have the option to view the item that was shared.

If a Client Forgets Their Login Information

Clio Connect users that have forgotten their password can reset it via the "Forgot Password" link found on the login page at
