Co-counsels can add time to a shared Matter in order to more accurately record how much time is being spent on a Matter.

Adding Time

In order to add time to a Matter for billing, you must open the shared Matter in your Clio Connect account. When you have done so, select the "Time Entries" tab.

Once you have clicked on the Time subtab of the shared Matter you would like to add time to, click on the "Add" button to record an Activity.

After you have filled out the appropriate fields, you can Save the entry.

Editing Time

Should you need to modify the entry, you can edit it by clicking on the Edit button below the time entry.

Quicktimers and the Timekeeper

If you need to record additional time later on for that entry, you can either Edit and change the Duration field, or click on the "Start Time' below the time entry to start this activity's timer.

Additionally, if you need to quickly record an Activity that is happening, you can start a quicktimer using our Timekeeper.

This will bring forward a "Timekeeper" popup that allows you to click on the "+" symbol to start a quicktimer. Once you have finished recording the activity, you can edit the Time Entry captured by the Timekeeper by selecting the Edit icon that looks like a pencil.

Once edited, the Time Entry is recorded to the proper Matter, and can then be billed in Clio by the managing firm.

All Activities

If you want to view all of the Time you have entered across all of your shared Matters, you can go to the main Activities page, which will display a list of all Time Entries.

In order to Filter your Activities, you can select the "Filter", which will display a couple of fields you can use to narrow down your Activities.

Exporting your Time

You can export a copy of your Activities to CSV by using the "Export" button, allowing you to keep a record on your local harddrive or manipulate the information in a spreadsheet program like Excel.
