When adding a Task to a Matter, either individually, or by assigning a Task List, the due date of each Task can be set in relation to other Tasks that have already been created. If you change the due date of a Task that other Tasks are dependent on, the due dates of all dependent Tasks will update automatically.
Due Date Dependencies for Individual Tasks
The due date for this Task will default to today's date. Click in the date field to select a different date.
Once you have added more Tasks to the Matter, you can set the due date of this Task in relation to others by clicking the "Edit" quick link.
When Adding a Task to a Matter with Existing Tasks, choose "Relative Due Date".
- Clicking the "Relative Due Date" will allow you to set a due date in relation to other Tasks in the Matter.
- Due dates can be assigned a number of "Days", "Business Days", "Weeks", "Months", and "Years" "Before" or "After" the Task that you select below.
(Note: Business days refers to Monday through Friday) -
In the "Select a Task from Matter" area, select a Task in the list that the current Task should come before or after.
Each Task in the list will display its current due date below it.
Due Date Dependencies in Task Lists
Every Task following the first can have a due date set in relation to the other Tasks in the list.
- Due dates can be assigned a number of "Calendar" or "Business" days "Before" or "After" the Task that you select below.
(Note: Business days refers to Monday through Friday) - In the "Tasks" area, select one of the Tasks in the list that is part of the Task List. When you change the due date of a Task that other Tasks are dependent on, the due dates of all dependent Tasks will update automatically.
