Task Lists: Understanding Task Dependencies

When adding a Task to a Matter, either individually or by assigning a Task List, the due date of each Task can be set in relation to other Tasks that have already been created. If you change the due date of a Task that other Tasks are dependent on, the due dates of all dependent Tasks will update automatically.

The due date for this Task will default to today's date. Click in the date field to select a different date.
Once you have added more Tasks to the Matter, you can set the due date of this Task in relation to others by clicking the "Edit" quick link.

When Adding a Task to a Matter with Existing Tasks, choose "Relative Due Date".

  1. Clicking the "Relative Due Date" will allow you to set a due date in relation to other Tasks in the Matter.
  2. Due dates can be assigned a number of "Days", "Business Days", "Weeks", "Months", and "Years" "Before" or "After" the Task that you select below.
(Note: Business days refers to Monday through Friday)
  3. In the "Select a Task from Matter" area, select a Task in the list that the current Task should come before or after.
