Exports and Permissions

From the Export page a user within Clio will be able to perform bulk exports of specific data. Only Administrators will be able to access the Export page in Clio.  

Once the user visits the above link, they will be brought to the Export page (example is based on North American access).

Bank Transactions:This will export into a .csv or .iif file, which you can then export to QuickBooks.

Bills: This will export into a .csv or .iif file, which you can then export to QuickBooks.

Calendar: Will export your own calendar items.  For instructions on exporting your calendar to another application, click here.

Calendar Entries: Will export all of your calendar entries/events in .csv format.

Communications: Will export all of your communications in .csv format.

Contact Notes: Will export a list of all contact notes on Contacts created in Clio.

Contact Related Matters: Within a Matter card you can link individuals via the "Contacts" tab.  This Export provides a list of all Contacts you have Related to all Matters.

Contacts: Will export a list of all of your contacts in .csv format.

Contacts (for Patch): used only by the Clio Migrations team.

Documents: You are unable to download your documents from the export page. You can either go to the documents tab and download them individually, or set up a data escrow to back them up in bulk to an Amazon S3 bucket.

Expense Entries: Will export a list of expense entries for all users.

Matter Notes: Will export a list of all matter notes on matters created in Clio.  **Note: if a user has been denied permission to a matter they will not see it in their matter notes export.

Matters: Will export a list of all Matters in the firm.  **Note: if a user has been denied permission to a matter they will not see it in their matter export.

Tasks: Will export your own tasks in .csv format.

Tasks (ics): Will export tasks for importing into Outlook or iCal.

Time Entries: Will export a list of time entries for all users.
