Directive Communication Systems (DCS) is the first and only estate management service that helps Trust & Estate professionals organize and handle their clients' personal on-line & off-line accounts and directives in accordance with their final wishes. Your clients can maintain their own account information, keeping the portfolio current. By integrating Clio with DCS, you can easily import your client’s profile data into the DCS record and directive management service.

Once you have signed up for a DCS account, the account administrator will login to DCS and click on "Manage Firm" then "Edit Firm". In the "Edit Firm" window, check the box beside "Connect to Clio".
All users in your firm account will now see the "+ Clio Client" button on the "My Clients" page.
To authorize DCS's connection to Clio, click the "+ Clio Client" button. The first time that you do this you will be directed to authorize the connection. If you are not already logged in to your Clio account, you will be prompted to log in before you can connect. When prompted, click the green "Yes, let's connect" button.
Once connected, clicking the "+ Clio Client" button will bring up a search box where you can enter part of a client name that you have in Clio. You will see only those Contacts in Clio with first or last name matching the search criteria.
From the list of available Clio Contacts, click on the appropriate client that you want to import into DCS. Details for that client will now appear to the right. From these details, you can:
- select up to 2 phone numbers to import into DCS (Phone and Mobile)
- select up to 2 addresses to import into DCS (Domicile/Home and Mailing/Shipping)
- select 1 email address to use as the Client's primary email address. All other email addresses will be imported, as alternate email addresses.
When you have selected the information that you want to import, click the "Next" button.
You will now be directed to the DCS "Add Client" window where you will be able fill in some additional information about your client.
