What Does "User Has Exceeded Their Drive Storage Quota" Mean?

Objective:

  • To resolve the inability to save files to the Clio folder in Google Drive when encountering the error message, "User has exceeded their Drive storage quota."

Environment:

  • Google Drive

Additional Information:

  • This error would only appear for Clio users when they have integrated Clio with Google Drive

Answer:

  • The storage limit on any Google account is spread amongst all users on the account and includes Gmail and Drive. The error message indicates that there is no longer available storage space on the Google account, preventing the ability to save files into the Clio folder in Drive.
  • The user will need to move or delete files to free up space on Drive, or upgrade the Google account to add capacity: Google Drive Plans and Pricing
