KCS - Why Don't the Amounts on the Billing History Report and Activities Export Match for the Same Date Range?

Objective:

  • Why doesn't the Billing History Report match the Activities Export?

Environment:

  • Clio Web App

Additional Information:

Clio's Reports/Exports are not designed to be compared to one another—they pull information based on different filters to report for on different metrics.

Answer:

The Billing History Report is based on the Issue Date of Bills, whereas the Activities Export is based on the Activity Date.

e.g. An Activity is entered with a date of Jan 1st and it is Billed on Feb 1st:

  • January's Activities Export will include the Activity
  • February's Activities Export will not include the Activity
  • January's Billing History Report will not include the Activity
  • February's Billing History Report will include the Activity
