How to Include a Link or a Note to your Bills

Objective:

  • Include a clickable hyperlink on Invoices
  • Add payment links to Bills

Environment:

  • Clio Manage

Additional Information:

  • If you are adding a payment link to your Bills and you are located in the United States, you can instead avail of a more integrated Online Payment system through Clio Payments
  • On the Bill Themes page, you can also click on New Theme or Copy to create a new theme or copy an existing one
  • While the link will not be clickable in Clio, it will become hyperlinked when the bill has been downloaded as a PDF (the style and formatting will not change)

Procedure:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Select Billing
  3. Click on Bill Themes
  4. Click on the Theme you would like to edit
  5. From the menu at the top-left, select Footer
  6. Select Footer again
  7. Add the link into the Payable Statement or Invoice Memo field (leaving the existing text and bracketed fields in place)
  8. Use the formatting options to bold, underline, or color the text
  9. Click Save at the top right

Please note: An active hyperlink will not be on the footer bill.
