KCS - What Clio Payments Settings Options Do I Have to Make Credit Card Information More or Less Strict?

Additional Information:

An Address Verification System (AVS) is a system used to verify the address of a person claiming to own a credit card. The system will check the billing address of the credit card provided by the user with the address on file at the credit card company. 

The AVS Settings of your LawPay account can be changed by contacting LawPay Support at 800.459.5798 or email them (see here). 

Answer:

The following AVS settings are available:

  • Disabled: No AVS check is performed
  • Submit but ignore results: Address information is submitted, but any results are ignored
  • Postal Code Only Match - Strict: An exact match of the postal code is required
  • Address Only Match - Strict: An exact match of the address is required
  • Address OR Postal Code Match - Lenient: A match of the address or postal code is required. Transactions are permitted if AVS checks are not available on the payment processor or not applicable to the card.
  • Address OR Postal Code Match - Strict: A match of the address or postal code is required. Transactions are rejected if AVS checks are not available on the payment processor or not applicable to the card.
  • Address AND Postal Code Match - Lenient: An exact match of both the address and post code is required. Transactions are permitted if AVS checks are not available on the payment processor or nota applicable to the card.
  • Address AND Postal Code Match - Strict: An exact match of both the address and postal code is required. Transactions are rejected if AVS checks are not available on the payment processor or not applicable to the card.
