I Receive a "CounselLink Could Not Find a Matter Assigned to your Law Firm with a Law Firm Matter ID" Error When Submitting LEDES Billing in CounselLink

Issue:

  • CounselLink Error Description after submitting a LEDES bill reads "There are no matters assigned to your law firm with a Law Firm Matter ID..." followed by the Clio Matter Number

Environment:

  • Clio Web App
  • CounselLink

Cause:

The Matter in CounselLink has not been assigned the Clio Matter Number

Resolution:

  1. Navigate to the Matter in CounselLink
  2. Click Edit
  3. Insert the Clio Matter Number in the Matter ID field
  4. Save
  5. Re-upload the LEDES Bill
