Can I Add a Description when Writing Off the Balance of an Invoice?


  • A way to add internal notes for the reason behind a Write Off/Credit Note at the time that it is being added during a partial Bill Payment


  • Clio Manage

Additional Information:

  • A partial Bill Payment must first be applied to an Approved Bill for the Write Off feature to be available
  • Contact Clio Support to request that the feature to add a Description field to use when applying a Write Off during a partial Bill Payment


  • It is not possible during the Write Off process to add a Description, however, it is possible when using the Credit Note feature
