How to Add Spam Filters to the Wordpress Plugin in Clio Grow

Objective:

  • Add spam filters to the WordPress plugin
  • Mitigate spam coming into the Lead Inbox

Environment:

  • Clio Grow

Additional Information:

  • There are a handful of different options that you can implement in your WordPress sites that will help keep spam from being sent through to Clio Grow. Below, we'll cover some options that you can easily implement. For more suggestions, we recommend reaching out to your Web Developer.

Procedure:

Domain Blacklist

The Domain Blacklist will prevent email addresses with certain domains from being able to submit the form.

  1. Go to your WordPress Admin page
  2. Click "Settings" and select "Clio Grow Settings"
  3. Enter the domain names in the “Domain Blacklist” field
  4. Block multiple domains by entering them on separate lines
  5. Click “Save Settings” to finish

reCAPTCHA

reCAPTCHA will provide a bot-preventing submission task underneath the form.

  1. Go to your WordPress Admin page
  2. Click "Setting"s and select "Clio Grow Settings"
  3. Click the “Click here” link to obtain a reCAPTCHA key
  4. Enter a label
  5. Select a type of reCAPTCHA and register
  6. Copy the Site Key and Secret Key that are generated
  7. Go back to the Clio Grow Plugin Settings in your WP Admin
  8. Paste the Site Key and Secret Key into their appropriate fields
  9. Click “Save Settings” to finish
