What Does the "Source/Recipient" Field Mean when Recording a Transaction?

Objective:

  • Define Source/Recipient in the Transactions page

Environment:

  • Clio Web App

Additional Information:

Note that the Source/Recipient field is not a mandatory field. It exists to give users another layer of organizing their information.

Answer:

The Source/Recipient field is a way for you to input where the money came from or where it is going to.

Source indicates where the money came from. For example, if someone else writes a cheque for your client's legal costs, you can add the name of the individual in that field.

Recipient indicates where the money is going to. For example, if your client has money in Trust and you use that money to pay for a Court filing fee, you can input that information in that field.
