Why do my Clio Payment Transactions show Multiple Times in the Contacts Transaction List?

Objective:

  • One Clio Payment shows multiple transactions in the Contact Transaction page
  • What transactions will show from a credit card payment?
  • Why are there two duplicate transactions for a single charge?

Environment:

  • Clio Manage

Answer:

In Clio, all Clio Payment transactions that apply to Bills go to the Contact level Operating account before being transferred to the Matter and then appropriate Bill.

This was designed to accommodate Clio's ability to apply a payment to multiple invoices and Matters at a given time.
