How to Create Custom Fields for Matters


Case Number Text (One-Line)
Used to track the case number assigned by the court to the matter. These are usually a mix of alphanumeric characters. Ex. 2:14-cv-02643
Opposing Party Contact Select
Hyperlink to the Contact card for the lawyer representing the other side. Important to have quick access to this, as most communication would happen between lawyers only.
Opposing Counsel Contact Select
Hyperlink to the Contact card for the opposing party.
Judge Contact Select
Hyperlink to the Contact card for the judge or magister before whom the matter is being heard.
Court Contact Select
Hyperlink to the company Contact card for the court hearing the matter.
Insurance Claim Number Text (One-Line)
Claim number used by the insurance company associated with the case.
Adjuster Contact Select
A personal injury adjuster is the insurance company employee or representative responsible for assessing and paying out on your personal injury claim.
Date of Incident Date
Date on which the events at issue occurred.
Injuries Text (Multi-Line) Listing of injuries claimed in this matter.
Damages Sought Money
Amount of money being claimed as damages in the lawsuit.
Filing Date Date
Date on which the injured party filed a lawsuit.
Marital Status Picklist
Whether the client is married. Suggested list: Married, Single, Divorced.
Conflict Check Checkbox
Has a conflict check been done on the parties in this matter?
Referral Source Contact Select
Hyperlink to the Contact card for the chosen contact that referred the case to the customer.
Settlement Amount Money
Total amount awarded to be used for reporting via a matter CSV export
Personal Injury Type Picklist
List of subsets of Personal Injury cases (e.g. Automobile Accident, Medical Malpractice, Slip & Fall, Construction Accident, etc.)
