"Something Went Wrong" Error Message when Uploading a large Document


  • When uploading a Document into Clio, it will appear to begin uploading successfully. However, part way through the upload (in this case, after waiting a long time) it will give a "Something Went Wrong" error message.

If the Document is sufficiently large and the internet connection speed of the user uploading the Document is sufficiently slow, Clio will cancel the upload attempt after a certain amount of time has elapsed and will generate the above error message. This is known as a 'timeout'.


Try to upload the Document into Clio with a faster internet connection.
