How Do I Generate a Cover Letter?

Objective:

  • Cover Letter
  • Bill summary
  • Explain the contents of a Bill
  • Can I Set up a Cover Page That Appears At the Beginning of Bills?

Environment: 

  • Clio Manage

Additional Information:

The Cover Letter includes the following:

  • Firm Address
  • Invoice To
  • Payable To
  • Date
  • Invoice number
  • Amount Due
  • If you need to include the Matter Number on the Cover Letter, you will need to manually enter this into the Custom Address section on the Bill page (How to Change the Address on a Bill)
  • Statement of Accounts> Summary of Accounts in Bill Themes will need to be enabled to see total amount due on Cover Page

Procedure:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Click Billing
  3. Scroll down to Bill Cover Page
  4. Tick the checkbox for Generate cover page for bills
  5. Click Save at the bottom of the screen
  6. Go to your Bill (or generate a new Bill)
  7. The top of the page gives you a preview of the Cover Letter
