Cannot Delete an Account in Clio Payments to Link the Correct Account

Issue:

  • I accidentally linked my operating account in LawPay to my Clio Payments account and marked it as a trust account
  • Trying to delete the incorrect account from online payment settings but getting a blue screen error when trying to delete the incorrect account "Something went wrong. We've been notified. Please try again in a few minutes. If this error persists please email us at support@clio.com to let us know."

Cause:

This happens when there are no active operating accounts in LawPay

Resolution:

In LawPay:

  1. Activate or add an operating account

In Clio:

  1. Click Settings 
  2. Click Clio Payments
  3. Accounts should now be mapped correctly, if not manually map them to the correct account
